November Study Meeting: “Banpaku-haku EXPO’s expo” Exhibition Visit with Lecture

Schedule:
12:50: Meet at the museum entrance. Please be punctual. Upon arrival, you will be asked to buy a ticket (320 yen).
14:00: Tour with Lecture (in Japanese). The tour will include a lecture by Mr. Kodera (researcher at the Tojo Museum of History and former member of the board of directors of the Society for the Study of Japonisme).
≪Tokugawa Akitake was dispatched to the Paris World Fair in 1867 as the shogun’s representative, and also to the Philadelphia World’s Fair in 1876 as an official representative. This exhibition will explore the World Fair of those times, Akitake’s activities, and his continued involvement with expositions into the modern era.≫
14:50: Tour of the Tojo Residence with lecture
15:40: Explanation session in the garden, followed by a free viewing of the garden. The museum will be open until 17:00.
