‘The Society for the Study of Japonisme Award’ was established in 1980 to encourage broader research into Japonisme, reach a wide audience and to honour the outstanding achievements of Society members. Since then, many researchers have been recognized as awardees of the prize. Furthermore, ‘The Society for the Study of Japonisme Young Researcher’s Award’ was established in 2013 to support and encourage research activities that show promise for the future.
‘The Society for the Study of Japonisme Exhibition Award’ which was created to celebrate notable exhibitions on Japonisme, ended in 2019.
