We renewed our Society for the Study of Japonisme homepage. The template (theme) that we had used up until now was getting too old, and we feared that it would lose its compatibility with the WordPress platform. Therefore, we hired a website development company to help us customize and install a new template. The current theme is a customized form of the EMANON theme, which was adapted to fit the features from our homepage’s older version.
Together with the update, we used the opportunity to re-organize the contents of the homepage. We made it more compact, through merging all the symposium, activities, journal, and awards tabs. In doing so, we created an archive for the symposium, as well as for the activities, and the journal, so that information regarding past symposia, society activities, and our journal can be accessed easily. Finally, we unified the formatting of all contents over the entire homepage, to create a cleaner look.
